I frequently receive emails and letters asking for my advice and professional opinion on business projects and ideas.
For simple requests I am happy to provide a few lines of guidance and you can write to me any time at rachel@rachelelnaugh.com and I will be happy to help where I can free of charge.
I am also offering six FREE hour long one-to-one advice sessions on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month at the new Business & IP Centre at the British Library (next to St Pancras Station). However, if you would like me to review your business idea or Business Plan in more detail or if you would like me to get more closely involved in your business, I offer the following, more detailed consultancy services:
SIMPLE BUSINESS REVIEW
In this review I will look at your Business Plan (if you have one), your product/service idea or prototype and your financial forecasts (if available), and give you my opinion on your business, my view on your prospects of success and guidance on the next steps I believe you should be taking to progress your business idea if appropriate.
I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement if you wish me to, but would like to assure you that I treat all correspondence I receive with absolute confidentiality in any event.
The cost of this service is £750 including VAT, which includes a detailed report (normally c10 A4 pages) reviewing all the key areas - including marketability, brand, packaging/presentation, the business model, patents/intellectual property, finance and business strategy.
Please note that I undertake these reviews personally and do not delegate them to an inexperienced junior member of staff.
If you would like me to conduct a Business Review for you then please send me the following information, by post to Rachel Elnaugh, 18 Hanover Square, Mayfair, London W1S 1HX together with a cheque for £750 made payable to Rachel Elnaugh Ltd.
- An overview of your business idea, together with your detailed Business Plan (if you have one). Please also state your ambitions for the business and what you are aiming to achieve in the coming 3 -5 years.
- Any financial forecasts you may have prepared - ideally a Profit & Loss forecast showing the predicted monthly sales and expenditure for at least the next 12 months.
- A sample/prototype of the product (if this is easy to send via the post) or alternatively pictures/sketches/diagrams, or a detailed service description including proposed pricing and cost of sales.
- Your contact details in case of query.
Upon receipt I will contact you if I require any further information, and I will then aim to let you have my detailed report and recommendation within 14 days.
FULL CONSULTANCY PROJECT
I undertake full consultancy projects ONLY where I believe that a business/product has good prospects of success AND where I believe that I am able to add value to your business.
I have found that a 3 month intensive involvement is the most effective route where I will help you develop your business plan and in particular your brand/marketing strategy resulting in a detailed Plan and financial forecasts for implementation thereafter. I will also assist in helping you raise appropriate finance for your business if necessary - together with any other contacts which may be necessary from my extensive business address book. A Full Consultancy Project includes ongoing mentoring by phone/email for a year thereafter.
I normally charge £5,000 + VAT for a full consultancy project where the payments are staged as follows:
Initial payment of £750 for the Business Review (as outlined above) to enable me to assess your business and my view on its prospects of success. If, after the Business Review, if I feel I am unable to help you further I will detail the reasons why and give you my recommendations for business support which is more appropriate to your situation.
Payment upon acceptance of consultancy assignment - £2,250 + VAT
Balance upon completion of consultancy assignment and delivery of Business/Marketing Plan/Strategy - £2,000 + VAT
